We recently purchased a
cold-molded wooden boat built in 1957 by North American
Marine in Warsaw, Indiana. We are in the process of
restoring this old woody and would like to provide a
space for the sharing of information on boats built by
North American Marine. Please feel free to send any
information and especially pictures of these boats.
We have
finished all of the painting and varnishing of our boat.
Saturday we put in the new upholstery and installed the
hardware. Sunday we took her to the lake and put her in
the water. We have added new pictures to the photo
gallery. This weekend we hope to rewire her and put the
motor on and cruise the lake.
We have seen that Sugar Loaf I, a 1956 16 footer, owned
by Ron Hooker, was chosen as the
A.C.B.S. Classic Boat of the Year. This boat was
also featured in an
article in USA Today (8-10-05). |
